KUALA LUMPUR: Eco World International Berhad (EcoWorld International) today launched a special exhibition showcasing the art of one of Australia’s best-loved contemporary artists, David Bromley.
Bromley is one of Australia’s finest self-taught artists who has become one of the most recognisable and innovative artists in the country. Over the past 20 years, his work has fostered widespread acclaim in Australia and internationally. Bromley has exhibited on nearly every continent including Asia, Europe, Africa and America.
EcoWorld International President & CEO, Dato’ Teow Leng Seng said that taking up the role of presenter for Bromley’s first exhibition in this country represents an opportunity for EcoWorld International to connect Malaysia to Australia; Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne.
“This is particularly meaningful for us as Bromley’s home base in Melbourne is also where our upcoming Yarra One residential development is situated. Arts and culture has always been a strong point of interest for us at EcoWorld International. For our maiden project in the United Kingdom called London City Island, we’ve infused the development with the vibrancy of East London’s famed arts scene,” shared Teow.
In collaboration with KL Lifestyle Art Space and EcoWorld International as the presenter for ‘The World of David Bromley’, the exhibition will be held in three venues. The three-part exhibition kicked off on 8 August at the KL Lifestyle Art Space Gallery and second-leg starts today until 24 September at the EcoWorld International Gallery along Jalan Hang Tuah. The final exhibition will take place soon at EcoWorld International’s Yarra One Gallery in Melbourne.
The exhibition at EcoWorld International Gallery features over 20 unique paintings and two (2) sculptures from Bromley’s extensive collection. The paintings also include Bromley’s portraiture of Malaysian celebrities. Among them are fashion icon Tengku Chanela Jamidah and singer Najwa Latif, who attended the launch today. Also in attendance for the event was Dato’ Gary Thanasan, CEO of Mediate Communications and Viviane Mouait, Second Secretary of the Australian High Commission.
EcoWorld International’s second project in Australia – Yarra One is located in South Yarra, a suburb of Melbourne that houses some of the city’s most prestigious residential addresses. Designed by the award-winning Fender Katsalidis Architects, the 26-storey Yarra One promises to bring a breath of fresh air to the neighbourhood. The 256-unit residential tower has a gross development value of RM825.7 million and is slated for completion by the first half of 2020.
