It’s a Wrap: EcoWorld Ballymore Unveils First of Phase 2 Completions at London City Island

In celebration of the first of Phase 2 completions at London City Island, leading London property developer EcoWorld Ballymore has for a week transformed the newly completed Amelia building with red ribbon, unveiling a special gift for East London’s iconic skyline.

Today, after much anticipation EcoWorld Ballymore hosted a dramatic opening ceremony to mark this development milestone. Azrain Azlan, Manager at EcoWorld International UK and Steve Tennant, Developments Director at Ballymore, took a courageous leap of faith and abseiled down the 17 storey Amelia Building, symbolising both the ambition and teamwork integral to the Joint Venture Partnership. At the end of the descent, the two property daredevils unwrapped the giant bow, formally marking the completion of the iconic building. The gravity-defying stunt was witnessed by new residents, who will soon call the Amelia Building their new home.

London City Island’s Amelia Building consist of 200 homes, with a selection of Suites, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom apartments available. Displaying an impressive brick façade, the new homes will offer residents sweeping views across Leamouth Peninsula towards Canary Wharf, placing residents in the heart of the new island neighbourhood.

2018 has been a landmark year for London City Island. Having won the Placemaking Award at the Property Week 2018 Awards, the development has been firmly established as a new destination for art, culture and creativity in the capital. Two of London’s foremost cultural institutions, English National Ballet and The London Film School are relocating to the island from 2019 whilst this year has witnessed the welcoming of a number of creative galleries, events and pop-ups. Creative partnerships with arebyte, Studiomakers and Trinity Art Studios have enabled the launch of two art galleries on site, as well a number of studios and workspaces for residents and local creatives.
